2. Witcher Brewing Co.

Witcher is the pick when you want to settle in for the whole afternoon, not just grab a quick pint. Out on Highway 290, this family-owned brewery built a genuinely spacious setup: over 7,000 square feet of turf, a fenced play area for the kids, a covered porch, live music on the outdoor stage, and TVs for game day.

4. Ogle Brewery

Ogle is the polished pick on this list, part of the Arch Ray resort scene, with a more upscale, trendier feel than a typical taproom. If you're looking for a proper night out rather than a casual pint, this is where I'd send you.

Order the Outlaw flight and you'll get a good sense of their full lineup in one sitting. It's a solid choice if your group wants something a step above casual, without leaving the beer scene behind entirely.

5. Fredericksburg Brewing Company

This is where Fredericksburg's beer story actually started. Opened in 1994, just months after Texas passed the legislation allowing brewpubs, Fredericksburg Brewing Company holds the title of oldest brewpub in the state. It's been serving downtown ever since, right on Main Street in a beautifully restored 1890s building.

Settle in at the bar and you can watch the brewers work through the big front window while you eat.
